Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How can KanRails help my organization?

KanRails wants to be the workflow management tool for your organization, whether or not your team sits in the same office. It leverages kanban methodology to make your workflows efficient and to encourage continuous improvement in your processes. Some people call this lean management. KanRails is on a journey toward being the tool to help with your software development, HR processes, customer support, approval workflows, data collection, etc. We appreciate your feedback on how to make KanRails better.

What is a Collaborator?

A Collaborator is any person you add to the project as either a Member or a Viewer. Project owners also count as one Collaborator.

What is a Track?

A Track is essentially a fancy name for a Kanban board. It is derived from "railway track". A Track will display cards in various Stages (columns) of progress.

What is a Project?

A Project is a way to group together Tracks of similar purpose. Collaborators can be added to Projects.

What are Automation Rules?

Automation Rules are rules that dictate "if this, then that". For example, when a card is created in a Track, send the person an email, or assign card to a team member. No power-up required, all built into the KanRails platform. Automation Rules can only get more and more powerful with time, and with your support :)

Is there a trial period?

There is no trial period for KanRails Pro, but KanRails is a freemium product that behaves the exactly same was as KanRails Pro, except with some limitations. You can try out KanRails Free without a credit card, and without any time limit.

I upgraded to KanRails Pro. Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, we allow self-serve plan cancellation. Your plan will continue to work till its expiry date.

Did you build this with Ruby on Rails?

Despite the name, KanRails is not built with Ruby on Rails. The application frontend is built with frameworkless web components (LitElement + Redux + good ol' fashioned design patterns). The API backend is built with Go, so you can expect KanRails to be rather performant. We even have WebSockets to broadcast changes in real-time.
